I don't disagree with what the legislature did. It was part of the process and , in my view, the proper result. However, separating out what is eligible for referendum based on personal preference is not appropriate. That is why the legislature has to take a number of actions to have something go on the ballot. It is part of the checks and balances. While the "losers" complained about not having the vote, that is why they elect representatives to the legislature. They cannot pick and choose what the legislature does. The remedy is at the ballot box at election time. More discussion if needed Sunday and beyond. bnk
