By hand! Adina, borrow our Cuisinart at least. :-) I didn't make any this year, which is a little bit sad, but I'm not that sad that our kitchen doesn't reek of FRIED. I grew up in a mostly Catholic (mainly Italian, some Irish, and a sprinkling of others) town, and when I was in fourth grade a classmate told me I was going to hell because I didn't believe in Jesus. Well, neither do I believe in hell, so nyah. I like the U2 Christmas song and "Christmas in Hollis" and "Do They Know It's Christmas", but the rest I could probably have done entirely without, until a couple of years ago when suddenly half my family was Catholic. :-) I suppose I should have known, after spending my formative years in Lynnfield, that I would marry a Catholic. Hrm. We lit the hanukkiah at the family Christmas party on Wednesday - there were actually two of us Jews there! - and I nearly burned the house down, but it is nice that the whole family gets exposed to my culture. And trust me, I have learned that many people out there know basically zero about what Jews do. Eep! So the more I can educate, even people who are already more knowledgeable than most...
