Last night I met with a member of my book club to prepare to lead Sunday's discussion.
Low stress, because there are only going to be four or five of us.
The club has shrunk a bit, and it's summer, so people are running around doing all sorts of things. I guess I have more of a stake in it than some; I'd give up things to go to book club because it is the only organized personal activity that is mine, not mine and Joey's.
But we will have a lot of business to conduct on Sunday. We have to select a new book, and discuss inviting new members, etc. What should we read? I'd love to choose something I haven't read yet; more than half the books we've done since I joined were things I'd read. Which wasn't a big deal as I liked most of them. But still.
I am hoping that I am mature enough that the fact that I didn't particularly like Crow Lake will not hinder my ability to properly lead the discussion.
