The commercials and trailers for Little Man make me want to scream.  I do admit I snort/chuckled at the end of one last night - the image of a mobile putting a grown man to sleep is funny - but for the most part, I find the jokes offensive, disgusting, repulsive.

Someone said to me that she'd been told she doesn't get it because she's not black.

I'm not black, and I don't think it's funny.  But I think I get it.  I think that some people find jokes about grown men breastfeeding funny.  I don't.  I never will.  Some things the Wayans brothers do are, in fact, funny to me.  But this one is over the line.  Some of the jokes are incredibly homophobic, some are ridiculously misogynist, and some are just goddamn stupid, as far as I can see in the trailer.

I think Hollywood has stepped over the line with this one.

But if I don't get it because I'm not black, is there someone out there reading who can explain to me why degrading the mother/child relationship, propagating homophobia, and hitting people over the head with frying pans are all so funny?
